College Football
Growing up in a football family gave me some of my fondest memories, both in viewership and participation. I wear the fanatic badge proudly, and I’m beyond blessed to have experienced college football up close and personal. Perhaps the strangest detail of my life is that I went to a school with no football team. Check out some of my college football adventures:
Shamrock Series 2021
I got to see my favorite team, Notre Dame, kick-off against the Wisconsin Badgers at a stadium I grew up going to games at Soldier. Field. The dueling bands and fans symbolized the pageantry of college football and were experiences I will never forget. The luck of the Irish prevailed as Notre Dame walloped the Badgers off two fourth-quarter pick-sixes.
‘The U’ 2019
The 305’s rich nightlife and culture were not the only spectacles worth witnessing on my November visit to Miami. My best friend, a University of Miami student, gave me a tour of the tailgating scene outside Hard Rock Stadium before we celebrated a Hurricanes beatdown of visiting conference foe: Louisville.
Cy-Hawk Rivalry 2019
After camping out at two in the morning to get a front-row spot for College Gameday’s first-ever visit to Ames, Iowa, I got to experience my first Cy-Hawk rivalry game between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones. Supporting my brother’s alma mater, Iowa State, was a blast. Sadly, Iowa State lost on a muffed punt, stunning me, my brother, and the Cyclone faithful.
